How corrections work
- We reproduce the reported issue and check the cited passage.
- We consult the strongest available primary or scholarly source.
- We correct the source manuscript and every affected published output.
- We record material changes below with the date and nature of the correction.
Typographic changes that do not alter meaning may be fixed without a log entry.

24 August 2026 — pre-publication source audit
- Corrected a Cambridge chapter URL that was missing its final character.
- Replaced a dead Sveriges Riksbank inflation-targeting PDF with the current 2025 Economic Review.
- Corrected a U.S. Treasury implementation release from “August 2026” to 8 April 2026 and narrowed the description to its AML and sanctions scope.
- Changed “Four concepts” to “Five concepts” in the inflation section.
- Qualified an overly categorical hyperinflation causation statement and a cross-jurisdiction claim about the share of broad money created as bank deposits.
- Standardized an internal Bitcoin/crypto comparison slug in the unpublished content plan.
